Welcome to the SCORTA HELVETICA Website

We will accompany the memorial march marking the 500th anniversary of the Papal Swiss Guards in Rome (1506-2006). The official information site for this event is www.scorta-helvetica.ch.

In spring 2006, former guards will guide the memorial march along that route that their 150 comrades followed from Switzerland to Rome in the winter 1505-1506. They will begin on 7 April in Bellinzona, march the entire 720-kilometer route, and arrive in Rome on 4 May. The highpoint of the celebrations marking this event will take place in Rome on 6 May.
