Week 3: Altopascio - Acquapendente
Backgroundinformation
The third week of our march continues through traditional Tuscany south of the Arno River. We march through gently rolling hills intensively cultivated for farming. Deep ravines have been formed through heavy erosion. Since the beginning of the 20th century and increasingly since World War II, reforesting has been taking place. We experience two types of settlements: typical rural areas with villages and remote farms, and then the historic towns with their urban way of life. In the south, we cross the border into the Lazio region and arrive at Acquapendente.
